Gina DeBello was appointed to the first violin section of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in April 2013 by Riccardo Muti. Previously, she was Principal Second Violin of the Minnesota Orchestra and prior to that, a member of the first violin section of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. DiBello Collaborate with many emerging composers through group including Alexandra duBois, Nico Muhly, Marc Mellits, and Evan Ziporyn. DiBello developed an intense passion for music at a very young age, inspried by her parents, both professional musicians. Principal teachers and influences include Desiree Ruhstrat and Geof Applegate. DiBello lives in Chicago with husband Ian Ding, where they share their house with four cats and many percussion instruments.
